With this photo, I've taken the third place in a local photography contest
To be honest, I'm quite proud and very happy about this result. As a photographer, you are always in doubt about your own skills. You've heard a thousand times, that it's the photographer who makes the photo, not the camera (and lens). But there are so many times, you can't belive this fact. Especially for an animal photographer, where you know, that the right equipment is so damn important. So I often don't believe, that I really do something special, something no one else could do in this way. But suddenly, I displace professional photographers, just with creativity, passion and my way of doing something. That's such a damn great feeling
But now to the picture: The theme of the contest was "home". I didn't want to shot something typical like a local church, our forest or any monument in the region. I wanted to do something more idealistic. As I've thought a lot about home in the past months, it was absolutly clear, that I want to shot people. Home has nothing to do with a location - people, love, friendship make a place to a home. To bring something local in it, I chose hay bales as they are a typical thing laying around here. And then everything was clear. Home is ... ... where somebody always will give you a leg up on a hay bale. ... where somebody will sit 'til darkness together with you on a hay bale just to see the sundown and be with you. ... where a friend is waiting for you. That's home in my definition and this home means so much to me.
My wonderful models: and My biggest thanks goes to you, for your patience and the willingness to support me You're so great!
Now an exposition, a calender with my photo in it and some money (to buy a new lens *.*) wait for me. So happy
Sorry for my late answer Feel free to use it as a reference and show it to me I wouldn't want it to be used as real stock but I don't mind in case of references.
